Using just a carving knife, I wanted to explore the use of hand tool craftsmanship on industrial materials. I created a stool that binds upholstery foam with insulation polystyrene through the use of Japanese joinery, presenting the materials we often hide behind walls or inside seats as beautiful on their own.
